Appointment as Training and Capacity Consultant

We are very pleased to announce our appointment as Training and Capacity Consultant to the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW). This has followed on from a successful relationship in providing technical support to the union.  

The NURTW’s close to 2 million membership makes it one of the largest labour unions in Africa. In order to provide the Union leadership with the tools to fully  effect their vision to make the NURTW an effective voice for its members and of continued relevance to Nigerian society, a study tour to the UK is being implemented.

The study tour is in two parts and will consist of a training program designed to up-skill the leadership in areas such as Change Management, Negotiation, Mediation and Conflict resolution,  and Media Skills training with regards to Press, radio and Television media.

The second part of the tour will involve visits to labour unions in the UK to hear first hand their experience in contribution to positive changes in British society.

Study tours to other countries are planned to provide union delegates with an international perspective of local issues, and also to act as a vehicle to seek the continued support and oversight by global fraternal organisations of their continuing struggle for social justice in a democratic Nigeria.

In addition we have worked hard with the leadership to prepare a strategic vision for the union which will be announced at the NURTW National conference taking place in Abuja, March 2012. The Strategic Vision is to be encapsulated into an International Press release with the  message:
